Pharmacist Travel Job – Houston, Texas

Job Summary

• Manage the medication process to promote pharmaceutical care.
• Identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug-related problems.
• Perform duties as a registered pharmacist, providing care appropriate for patients from newborn to adult.
• Ensure medication doses are appropriate based on diagnosis, weight/body surface area, allergies, and drug interactions.
• Accurately enter medication orders into the computer system.
• Verify correctness of medications dispensed to patients.
• Process medication orders and deliver doses within established guidelines.
• Follow aseptic technique and infection control in preparation of sterile products.
• Enforce aseptic technique and infection control practices among technicians and pharmacists.
• Complete annual re-certification with a minimum score of 90% on aseptic technique and infection control skills and written exam.

Work Schedule

• Night shift: 7 shifts on, 7 shifts off
• Shift hours: 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM
• 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
• Contract length: 14 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid Pharmacist license in Texas
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Ph.D./Pharm.D. degree
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacist experience, with experience within the last year
