Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Location: Iron River, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel Contract

Contract Details

• Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly (Overtime after 80 hours in 2nd week)
• Shift: Variable Day/Night
• Float Requirements: May float to ICU (2-bed unit) and Med/Surg (25-bed unit with 4-5 COVID rooms)
• On Call: Possible low census call; minimum 2-hour callback
• Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Rotating, usually every 3rd weekend/holiday

Unit Information

• 9-bed Emergency Department
• 2 negative pressure rooms
• 2 trauma bays
• Staffing: 2 RNs on day shift until 11 pm, 1 RN on nights with charge nurse assist
• Patient Types: Geriatric (CHF, COPD), Diabetic Ketoacidosis, Trauma, Stroke, Cardio-respiratory emergencies, COVID, Pediatric, and other general medical concerns

Required Qualifications

• License: Current Michigan RN license
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC
• Experience: Minimum 3 years in Emergency Room nursing; 5 years strongly preferred
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Additional Information

• Must be located at least 50 miles outside the facility (Radius Rule)
• Scrub colors: Any color allowed
• During flu season, flu and COVID vaccination is mandatory; unvaccinated travelers must wear masks at all times per facility policy
• May have Charge RN responsibilities

This position is suitable for experienced ER Registered Nurses comfortable with variable shifts, floating to ICU and Med/Surg units, and working in a fast-paced emergency environment.
