Physical Therapist Assistant (Rehabilitation Therapy) - Contract

Job Description

The Staff Physical Therapist Assistant supports the Staff Therapist in patient-related activities and direct patient care.

Essential Duties

• Treat patients as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes in accordance with PT Board requirements.
• Assist in maintaining the department and treatment area cleanliness.
• Participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences as needed.
• Assist nursing department with training of Restorative Aides.
• Communicate with supervisors and healthcare team members regarding patient progress, issues, and plans.
• Participate in in-service training programs for other facility staff.
• Record treatment changes following policy and procedures.
• Instruct patients’ families or nursing staff on maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge.
• Report any equipment problems to ensure proper maintenance.
• Maintain positive and effective relationships with patients, families, staff, and professional colleagues.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position does not have supervisory duties.

Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in California.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant, including experience within the last year.
• Experience with PointClickCare.

Additional Information

• This is a non-supervisory role.
• Requires ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
