Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (L&D)

Location: Dodgeville, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (6pm to 6am)
Hours: 12 hours per shift, approximately 36 hours per week

Unit Details

• Labor & Delivery unit with 5 L&D beds
• 1 Operating Room suite
• 2 triage beds
• Postpartum care in LDRP rooms plus 2 overflow postpartum rooms
• Approximately 230 births per year
• Patient population: Lower risk obstetrics (35 weeks and beyond), Level I Nursery
• No in-house OB/Neonatologist 24/7
• No monitor techs; RNs read fetal heart strips
• Equipment includes Bubble C-Pap for respiratory support
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring systems: Obix, Epic
• Nurse-to-patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
• No charge nurse or house supervisor role on unit
• No nurse aides or surgical techs on unit
• Floating required to medical-surgical unit as needed
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Current Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Experience & Skills

• Experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery care required
• No requirement to titrate drips or manage common titratable/set rate drips

Scheduling & Requirements

• Weekend shifts required (or possibly every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday night)
• Holiday shifts may be required depending on contract dates
• No call or standby requirement

Additional Information

• Orientation specific to Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, and attendance at C-sections during night shift
• Local candidates will be considered at the same rate

This position is ideal for an experienced L&D RN seeking a night shift travel assignment in a community hospital setting with a focus on lower risk obstetrics and newborn care.
