Role Summary

• Perform cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound procedures and acquire echocardiographic and/or vascular data.
• Provide ultrasound education and training to fellows, interns, and other staff.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience from an accredited cardiac ultrasound program
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and self-direct tasks
• Active AHA Basic Life Support certification
• Prior cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound experience in a healthcare environment
• 3 years of cardiac sonographer experience, with 2 years considered if the experience was at an academic teaching hospital
• 2 years of travel experience
• Registered in cardiac ultrasound through ARDMS or RCS via CCI

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited cardiac ultrasound program
• Ability to think deductively and make clinical decisions
• Experience with typical office equipment
• Experience with ultrasound equipment, transesophageal transducers, research computer systems, hospital information systems, and digital echo storage systems
• Knowledge of the cardiovascular and vascular circulatory systems, including physics and blood flow hemodynamics
