Overview
- Travel contract for an experienced Labor & Delivery nurse in Los Angeles, California.
- Contract length: 13 weeks.
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 36 hours per week.
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend.
- Call: no call.
- Holidays: one major and two minor.
- Floor orientation: 3 shifts on unit.
Unit Details
- Unit: L&D/PP - Perinatal
- Beds: 12 L&D beds, 10 triage beds, 12 antepartum beds
- Birth volume: about 200 births per month
- Floating: L&D floats to antepartum and postpartum
- First to float
Required Qualifications
- Active BLS
- Active ACLS
- Active NRP
- Active AWHONN / Adv-AWHONN
- California RN license
- 2 full years of Labor & Delivery experience
- Experience with high-risk deliveries
- C-section experience with circulating
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with scrubbing for C-sections
- Travel experience
Clinical Environment
- High-risk patient population including blood pressure issues, multiples, diabetes, no prenatal care, and substance abuse
- Fetal monitoring system: Fetal Link
- EMR: Cerner
- Charge nurse takes a patient assignment if needed
- 2 scheduled OB techs per shift assist with deliveries, scrub in for C-sections, and help stock supplies
- RT available 24/7 from NICU
- Pharmacy available 24/7
- OB attending coverage 24 hours
- Neonatologist coverage 24 hours
- No vents
- No IV team
Additional Notes
- Scrubs are provided and must be sterile
- Acrylic or overlay nails are not allowed during the assignment
