Overview

13-week contract
36 hours per week
Nights, 12-hour shifts
Unit: PCU Oncology (5 North)
18 beds
Primary patient population: Adult Oncology PCU and Trauma PCU patients

Required Qualifications

RN license
Minimum 1 year of experience
BLS
ACLS
NIHSS
Driver’s license required at submittal
First-time travelers are accepted

Preferred

Oncology experience
ONS/ONCC
CHEMO CERT

Unit Details

Travelers float to other Med/Surg and PCU units
Float assignments remain at the same level of care
Two days of unit orientation
Ratios: 1:4-1:5 on days and nights
Self-scheduling, balanced to unit needs
Every other weekend

Clinical Notes

RNs occasionally titrate Insulin and Cardizem drips
Common drips/medications include Chemotherapy, Heparin, Cardizem, and Protonix
Respiratory equipment commonly encountered: high flow
EMR: Epic
IV pumps: Alaris
Lyko lifts available in even-numbered rooms, with additional lift equipment available
Support staff includes Nursing Assistants, Charge Nurse, PT/OT, RN Case Manager, Social Worker, Educator, and Dietitian
