Required Qualifications

• Active BLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Unexpired driver’s license copy must be included with submission
• Strong MedSurg background
• Experience with EPIC

Schedule Requirements

• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required
• Floating required

Unit Details

• 32 beds, currently 20 due to staffing
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: no more than 5
• Unit accepts RNs and LPNs
• No charge nurse; house supervisor makes assignments
• 3 nurse aides per shift

Clinical Notes

• Unit does not require RNs to titrate drips
• ICU monitors are used for telemetry monitoring and documentation
• Respiratory support includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow
• Unit does not take laboring mothers or patients on titrating cardiac or insulin drips

Dress Code

• Any scrub color except camo or orange

Orientation

• 3–5 days of unit training
• Additional training includes medication, pharmacy, and lab systems
