Travel Nursing Opportunity: Med Surg/Tele RN - 2EW Post Surgical

Location: Marshfield, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Details

• Department: Med Surg RN 2E
• Beds: 15
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:

  • Day (0700-1900): 1:4-5
  • Night (1900-0730): 1:5-6
• Common Patient Types: Post-Surgical patients including Orthopedics, Urology, Gynecology/Oncology, Neurosurgery, Vascular Surgery, ENT, Plastics, GI. Acute medical patients with short length of stay may also be admitted.
• Telemetry System: GE, with remote monitoring technicians; RNs do not read their own strips.
• Respiratory Support: CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow Oxygen Therapy; no ventilators. RT support available.
• Charge Nurse: Present on all shifts and takes an assignment. House supervisor on all shifts.
• Nurse Aides: Present with ratios 1:8-12 during 0630-1900; RNs have lower ratios on nights without aides.

Schedule & Requirements

• Shifts:

  • RN: 0700-1930, 1100-2330, 2300-0700
  • CNA: 0630-1900, 1830-0700
• Scheduling: Block scheduling, no self-scheduling, dependent on staffing
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
• Call/Standby: None
• Floating: Required to float to other adult medical/surgical units

Qualifications & Skills

• Required Certifications: BLS (AHA)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience (higher end of 1-2 years stated)
• RN Responsibilities: Titrate drips including Heparin, occasionally Nitro, Cardizem, Insulin
• Orientation: 1 day computer training plus 1-2 days precepted floor orientation based on skills
• Dress Code: Any color scrubs, clean and professional

Additional Notes

• Clinicians who have previously worked at this facility must have ended their employment at least 6 months prior to submission.
• All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility.
