Central Sterile Processing Technician

Location: Boise, Idaho
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA or ARC)
• CBSPD or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) via HSPA

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Central Sterile Processing (SPD) experience (highest required)
• Experience working with Neuro, Ortho, and DaVinci Robotics cases
• Experience with SQ Track instrument tracking system
• First-time travelers accepted (prior travel experience NOT required)
• Preference for candidates with experience in a large hospital setting over surgery centers

Case Load & Procedures

• 60-70 cases per day
• Includes 8-10 DaVinci robotic cases, Mako for Ortho, and Stryker instrumentation (a plus)
• Covers Neuro, Ortho, DaVinci, General, Pediatric cases, and more

Duties

• Decontaminate, inspect, and assemble surgical instruments
• Operate washers and sterilizers
• Monitor sterilization cycles and indicators
• Maintain accurate records
• Store and distribute sterile items
• Ensure compliance with infection control and regulatory standards
• Day shift role primarily in Decontamination with potential to float throughout SPD department

Equipment & Systems

• Sterilizer systems: Sterrad, VPro Max 2 (Low Temperature), Belimed, Getinge, Steris (Steam Sterilizers)
• Tracking system: SQ Track

Schedule & Shifts

• Monday to Friday, 5 to 8 hour shifts per week
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Evening shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Night shift: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• No call requirements for weeknights, weekends, or holidays (rare weekend shifts)
• Floating required throughout SPD department

Orientation & Work Environment

• 1-2 weeks of unit/department-specific orientation
• Scrubs provided, locker available
• Breakroom with fridge available
• Facility undergoing workflow/process improvements during assignment
• Busy facility with some space constraints
• Location offers many outdoor activities and a beautiful area to travel to

Note: This is a day shift SPD role with potential floating within the department.
