Job Summary

The role involves providing prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients in various areas of the hospital, including both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Primary Job Duties

• Adhere to the hospital’s mission, vision, and values.
• Maintain nursing care standards and implement hospital policies and procedures.
• Assess patient conditions and identify nursing diagnoses to set goals and prescribe appropriate nursing actions.
• Report observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist team members in patient care or administer direct care as assigned.
• Initiate and update individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medication and perform treatments as per policy.
• Direct, supervise, and evaluate nursing care provided to patients.
• Assist physicians with special tests and procedures.
• Participate in the economical utilization of supplies and maintain equipment.
• Operate computer systems for various tasks including patient admissions and documentation.
• Participate in the orientation of new personnel and maintain communication with patients and their families.
• Assist with emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patients.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment, following standard precautions.
• Participate in committees for the improvement of nursing care.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and privacy.
• Attend staff meetings and ongoing education to upgrade professional skills.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with ER experience required.
• Valid State of Nebraska Nursing license or compact license.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NALS, and PALS required; TNCC and NRP preferred.

• Experience in Medical/Surgical, Skilled Care, ICU/CCU, Obstetrical, Nursery, Emergency Room, and other areas may be required based on staffing needs.
