Job Description

• General Duties:

  • Work in a long-term care skilled nursing facility.
  • Responsibilities include passing medications, IV therapy, feeding tubes, wound vac and wound management, trach care, ostomy care, and therapy/restorative care.
  • Patient demographics range from mid-30s to mid-90s with diagnoses including Huntington’s, dementia, diabetes, Alzheimer's, coronary artery disease, vascular disease, rehabilitation, stroke, TIA, and neuromuscular disease processes.
  • Facility has a capacity of 160 beds.

• Equipment Utilized:

  • Computerized medical record documentation (Meditech).
  • Medication administration system (MedRight).
  • Equipment includes VS towers, INR, glucometers, lifts, bladder scanners, IV pumps, CADD pumps, wound vacs, and assistive devices.
  • All labs and radiology are conducted at the hospital lab.

Requirements

• Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of Medsurg and Geriatric experience required.

• Licensure and Certifications:

  • State of Wyoming or compact nursing license required.
  • BLS certification required.

• Shift Requirements:

  • All shifts and weekends are required based on facility needs.
  • Nursing staff work 12-hour shifts with certified nurse aide support.
  • Nurse to patient ratio is 20:1 if administering medications, or 45:1 with medication aides.

• Dress Code:

  • Scrubs required; no facial piercings allowed, and full sleeve or objectionable tattoos must be covered.

• Orientation and Training:

  • First-day orientation covers mandatory compliance.
  • Two-day orientation for specific tasks and procedures.

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
