Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing individualized nursing care to patients through the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation. Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Caring for patients across all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
• Planning and coordinating care, conducting patient assessments, providing patient education, triage, and various nursing interventions.
• Adhering to the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in the state of practice and licensure.

Essential Functions

• Adhere to legal regulations and organizational policies regarding patient health information.
• Coordinate and manage care for patients, including those with complex needs.
• Deliver effective written and oral communications to engage patients and families.
• Delegate and supervise nursing tasks based on state practice act.
• Establish and maintain productive working relationships within the healthcare team.
• Provide feedback to patients and families regarding health.
• Perform age-related patient assessments and nursing interventions.
• Promote a safe environment for patients, families, staff, residents, and visitors.

Additional Information

• Dress Code: Navy Blue scrubs
• Licensure and Certifications Required:

  • Active BLS - American Heart Association
  • Active ACLS - AHA
  • Active South Dakota or compact state RN license
• Experience Requirements:

  • 1 year of recent nursing experience
  • Computer charting experience (EPIC)
• Flexibility: Willingness to float to any Med Surg or Tele unit as requested by the facility, within the scope of practice.
