Overview

Travel assignment in Alexandria, Louisiana
Unit: Trauma/Ortho/Med-Surg
36-bed unit on 7A in the Main Tower
36 hours per week
Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

Valid LPN / LVN license in Louisiana
Telemetry experience within the last year
1 year of Telemetry experience
ACLS
BLS
IV Therapy Certificate
Med Surg experience

Preferred Qualifications

Prioritization skills
Time management skills

Unit Details

Nurse-to-patient ratio: 6:1
Staffed with RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and a secretary
Equipment includes IV pumps, wound vacs, SCD pumps, Kangaroo Pumps, chest tubes, telemetry, PCA pumps, Bipaps, and epidurals

Typical Procedures

Wound vac changes
Wound care
IV insertions
Insertion of indwelling Foley catheters

Floating

May float to 6A, 3A, 3South, and 4South

Schedule

Every other weekend shifts
On call when census is low
