Registered Nurse (RN) - NICU Travel Position

Location: Fort Smith, Arkansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (18:45 - 07:15)
Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
Weekend Hours: Yes
Call Requirements: No

Unit & Patient Information

• Unit Type: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Level 3
• Number of Beds: 25 plus overflow beds on pediatric floor
• Patient Ratios: Vary by acuity; typically includes feeders, CPAP, nitric oxide, cooling patients
• Type of Patients: NICU infants requiring advanced respiratory and critical care support
• EMR System: EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Arkansas
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care) experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with infant patients
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Skilled in caring for Level 3 NICU infants including:

  • High Frequency ventilators
  • Conventional ventilators
  • CPAP, NIMV, HFNC
  • Nitric oxide therapy
  • Whole body cooling
  • Umbilical Arterial Catheter (UAC)
  • PICC lines
  • Attending high-risk deliveries

Preferred Qualifications

• STABLE certification

• Float Requirements: Possible float to mother-baby or pediatrics, but unlikely due to high census
