Job Details

- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 (must be specified on submission)

Unit Information
- Unit Type: Medical Telemetry, Observation
- Number of Beds: 24
- Patient Ratios: Vary by shift; nights typically 1:6-1:7 (not guaranteed)
- Equipment: Telemetry monitors, lift equipment, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups
- Utilize the nursing process to care for patients post-trauma, surgical interventions, and with medical comorbidities
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize outcomes and comfort
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality in compliance with professional standards and regulations
- Maintain professional accountability and evaluate effectiveness of care provided by self and others
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing and walking during shifts
- Physical demands include bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs; pinch up to 15 lbs; minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Exposure to blood and body fluids considered high risk
- Flexibility to work varying schedules and shifts as needed
Additional Information
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required from November 1 through April 1; declinations not accepted
- Dress code: Black scrubs only
- Night shift orientation occurs on day shift and requires full week availability
- Holiday time off requests limited to one per assignment
- Time off requests must be made on the back end of the assignment, not during the first week
