Overview

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Virginia
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- CVOR (2 years of experience)
- CVOR experience within the last year
- ACLS
- BLS
- Proficiency in scrubbing cardiac cases requiring bypass
- Proficiency in daVinci-assisted procedures
- Proficiency in open thoracotomy and VATS procedures
- Proficiency in procedures initiating ECMO
- Proficiency in pericardial window procedures
- Experience with CABG procedures
- Experience with valve replacement and repair procedures
- Experience with aortic dissection repair
- Experience with TAVR procedures
- Experience with daVinci-assisted lobectomy and wedge resections
- Ability to take call
Clinical Skills / Experience
- Proficient in scrubbing cardiac cases requiring bypass
- Experience with mediastinal and thoracic surgery cases
- Experience with daVinci-assisted procedures
- Experience with open thoracotomy
- Experience with VATS
- Experience initiating ECMO
- Experience with pericardial window procedures
- Ability to take call
Schedule
- Unit hours: 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
- Call begins at 3:00 PM when assigned
- Weekend call may include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday when assigned
Procedures on the Unit
- CABG
- Valve replacement
- Repair of aortic dissections

- Thoracic surgery
- DaVinci-assisted lobectomy
- Wedge resections
- Mediastinal lymph node biopsy
