Registered Nurse - Rapid Response

Location

• Augusta, Georgia
• Emergency Freestanding Emergency Department (FSED) with 11 beds
• Patient ratios: 1:4 or 1:6 depending on acuity
• Possibility of floating to main Emergency Department

Employment Type

• Travel assignment
• Contract length: 6 weeks
• 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend required

Unit & Work Environment

• New facility with all new equipment
• Cardiac/Vital Sign Monitors in all patient rooms
• Equipment includes CT, X-ray, point-of-care (POC) labs
• Documentation system: Meditech
• RNs and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) run POC labs
• RNs set up and adjust respiratory equipment (BIPAP, ventilators) with remote assistance available
• Frequent admissions to main hospital from FSED
• Dress code: Royal Blue Scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience in Rapid Response nursing
• Required certifications:

  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Positive, flexible, team-oriented, and patient-centered attitude

Procedures Performed

• IV insertion
• Foley catheter insertion
• Nasogastric (NG) tube insertion
• Assisting providers with various common ED procedures

Additional Information

• Opportunity to develop skills with new respiratory equipment and POC labs
• Unit is building a fully staffed team for the FSED
• Patient experience standards include AIDET communication, narration of care, and SBAR for department, admission, transfer handoffs
• Certifications and experience must be submitted with application package
