Educational ASL Interpreter – New Oxford, PA
Exciting Opportunity with PediaStaff: Educational ASL Interpreter in New Oxford, PA!
PediaStaff is seeking a dedicated Educational Interpreter to support a deaf or hard-of-hearing high school student during regular academic programming for the 2026–2027 school year.
Position Details
- Location: New Oxford, PA 17350
- Setting: High School / Hearing Impaired Support
- Schedule: Part-time, 2 days per week
- Preferred Days: Mondays and Fridays, but the school is flexible and open to other days
- Approximate Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: June 1, 2027
- In Person Only
- Student Caseload: 1 student
- Primary Need: ASL interpretation and communication support throughout regular academic programming
- Pay Rate: $30-$35 per hour
Responsibilities
- Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, peers, and school staff
- Provide ASL interpretation during classroom instruction and school-related activities
- Ensure the student has equal access to academic content and communication
- Adapt communication strategies based on the student's individual needs
- Collaborate with educators and other members of the school team
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher required
- EIPA certification at the secondary level preferred for this high school assignment
- Demonstrated fluency in ASL
- Familiarity with educational terminology and classroom environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience supporting deaf or hard-of-hearing students in an educational setting preferred
About PediaStaff
PediaStaff partners directly with local school districts to provide qualified educational professionals. You would work on-site with the school team and have supervision/support at the school, while PediaStaff serves as your W-2 employer. Your paychecks are issued weekly on Fridays through PediaStaff.
