NICU Respiratory Therapist Job Details

• Location: Easton, Pennsylvania (Lehigh Valley)

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,176–$2,418
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Shift Hours: 6:45 p.m.–7:15 a.m.

• Weekend and Holiday Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday; availability for at least one full holiday of coverage during the assignment is required
• Work Setting: On-site hospital assignment

Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Previous NICU respiratory therapy experience required
• Active Pennsylvania Registered Respiratory Therapist license required
• NRBC certification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
• Ability to work scheduled night shifts, alternating weekends, and required holiday coverage

NICU Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

• Provide specialized respiratory care for neonates and critically ill newborns in the NICU
• Assess, monitor, and manage patients with complex respiratory needs
• Deliver and adjust respiratory therapies in accordance with provider orders and clinical protocols
• Support neonatal resuscitation and emergency respiratory interventions
• Collaborate with neonatologists, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe, high-quality patient outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and ongoing respiratory care accurately
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, professional standards, and infection-prevention practices
