Description
Position: Physical Therapist
Department: New York State Department of Health (DOH)
Location: Albany, NY
Shift: Day Shift, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week (Monday–Friday), 8:30 AM–4:30 PM
Tentative Start Date: November 1, 2026
Key Responsibilities:
- Review Medicaid DMEPOS requests for medical necessity and coverage eligibility.
- Apply clinical judgment to evaluate patient needs and requested services.
- Prepare clinical documentation and participate in Fair Hearings.
- Ensure compliance with New York State regulations and coding standards.
- Identify billing discrepancies and help prevent fraud and abuse.
- Collaborate with physicians, healthcare providers, and Medicaid members on authorization-related inquiries.
