Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN with a CA RN license and 3+ years of ICU experience for a 13-week assignment requiring prior travel experience.

Details

• Work in the ICU of a hospital setting caring for critically ill intensive care patients
• Variable shifts with 3x12 Day (07:00-19:30) and 3x12 Night (19:00-07:30) schedules
• Every other weekend required
• On-call required as needed based on census
• Floating to Tele units depending on ICU census and need
• Patient ratio of 1:2

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (NIHSS preferred)
• Preferred certifications/skills: IABP, Impella, and PIRRT
• 3+ years of ICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management
• Experience caring for ventilated patients, including HFNC, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and administering continuous IV sedation and emergency medications
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and intervention care preferred
• Proficient in infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE

Additional Information

• Provide shift accountability for ICU patient care using the nursing process in accordance with state regulations and hospital policy
• Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and delivering safe patient care
• Delegate and supervise patient care tasks among assigned staff as appropriate
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing continuing education
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at the local rate
• Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
