Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift contract requiring prior travel experience and an active MA RN license.

Details

• 14-bed ICU unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes medical diagnoses such as alcohol withdrawal, ARDS, COPD, GI bleed, drug overdose, and COVID, plus occasional surgical cases (VATS, carotids, CEAs)
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
• ICU staff serve as the code team and rapid response team
• Intensivists provide coverage during the day, with NPs covering nights
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 7:15
• Cerner EMR experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required in hand
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; CCRN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration/monitoring

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to medical and post-surgical ICU patients, including vented, pressor-dependent, and chest tube patients
• Participate in code team and rapid response responsibilities
• Returning staff must wait one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
