Position Overview:

The Akron Campus is seeking an experienced MS/TELE Registered Nurse to provide nursing care to patients with varying acuity levels. The RN must be comfortable with telemetry monitoring, floating to other units as needed, and managing patient assignments based on changing care requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients based on individualized care plans.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, assess patient conditions, and promptly report changes in clinical status.
• Administer medications and treatments while following established patient safety protocols.
• Manage patient assignments according to acuity and staffing needs, with typical nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:5 to 1:6.
• Float to other units as required by facility needs.
• Perform phlebotomy and related clinical tasks within the scope of practice.
• Support charge nurse responsibilities when assigned, including patient assignments, admissions, Pyxis checks, crash cart checks, break and meal coordination, and communication with the supervisor.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic and follow facility policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Active RN license applicable to the assignment.
• Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program.
• Minimum of 2 years of MS/TELE experience.
• Recent Epic experience within the last 12 months, clearly listed on the resume.
• Recent phlebotomy experience within the last 12 months.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Willingness to float as needed.
• Availability to complete a required interview.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous charge nurse experience.
• Candidates without charge experience must be willing to receive training and perform charge nurse duties when assigned.

Scheduling and Submission Requirements:

• RTO: All requested time off must be disclosed at submission. Maximum of 7 days is permitted; requests exceeding 7 days will result in automatic rejection.
• Initial two weeks: RTO is not permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment.
• Block scheduling: Considered on a case-by-case basis. Clearly state in the submission comments if the candidate is interested in a block schedule.
• Interview availability: Include the candidate’s available dates and times in the submission.
• Scrubs: Solid black scrubs are required.
• Candidates must be willing to float based on facility needs.
