Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night-shift PCU/ICU role requiring BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and an LA City Fire Card.

Details

• Work in the ICU/PCU unit of an acute care Magnet-designated hospital
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required within skillset
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic charting system
• Telemetry work setting with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (must be in hand at submission, pending licenses not accepted)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and LA City Fire Card
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Skilled in ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with IV therapy, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Knowledge of CVA and traumatic brain injury care
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and management of cardiac/vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
• Wound care and surgical drain management skills preferred

Additional Information

• Provide ICU-level nursing care including ventilator management, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response
• May float between sister facilities within the contracted area as needed
• Scrubs of any color accepted; L&D and OR scrubs provided by facility
• Free parking available onsite
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront; minimal flexibility for post-submission changes
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted within 50-mile radius at standard bill rate
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
