Description
FULL-TIME DAYS
The Pathology Assistant performs laboratory and clerical functions. Assists Pathologist, Histology Technician or Histology Technologist with histology specimen management and histological staining. Assures proper maintenance of equipment, provision of adequate supplies and cleanliness of the pathology lab (tissue lab) and tissue storage area(s). Files slides, consults and retrieves slides/blocks as requested by the Pathologist. Completes established training for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Education:
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent
Experience:
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Six (6) months of pathology or laboratory experience
