FirstHealth of the Carolinas, a not-for-profit health care system located in the Sandhills of North Carolina, operates three Dental Care Centers serving low-income children up to age 21 for over 25 years.  This is a wonderful opportunity for a dentist who is passionate about working with children.  Position highlights: 

  • Excellent clinician collaboration, supportive environment. 
  • Available to work in Southern Pines as well as in School-based Dental Centers in Biscoe and Mt. Gilead.
  • Dependable work hours and great work-life balance.  
  • Hours: ability to fill-in for providers in one or more of the offices as needed:
    • Southern Pines Office - 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Thursday. 
    • Southern Pines Office - 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM on Saturdays. 
    • School-based Dental Center in Biscoe from 8:30 AM - 3 PM on Fridays and/or Saturdays. 
    • School-based Dental Center in Mt. Gilead 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM on Fridays and/or Saturdays. 
  • Temperate climate with four seasons allows for outdoor activities such as boating, cycling, hiking and fishing to be enjoyed year-round.
  • Affordable housing choices, one of the safest cities in NC, excellent public and private schools. 
  • Just an hour from Raleigh, and an easy drive to the state’s beautiful beaches and mountains. 

Qualifications: must be a graduate from an accredited school of dentistry.  Experience with pediatrics preferred. Must be willing to provide both operative care and exams. NC Dental License required.
