Job Summary

Registered Nurse Operating Room Open Heart, Johnstown, PA. The position supports open-heart and thoracic surgical services for patients of all ages. The role includes weekday and weekend call coverage, with responsibilities involving complex cardiovascular and thoracic procedures.

Job Details

Schedule: Day shift, 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday with weekday call from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; weekend call is scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience; active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse licensure; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or Handle With Care (HWC) certification; proficiency in open-heart procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) using on-pump and off-pump techniques, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), open valve replacement, thoracic lung procedures, and robotic procedures.
Preferred Qualifications: Registered Nurse charge experience, Level 1 trauma experience, and robotic lung experience.
Additional Information: The position requires weekday and weekend call availability to support urgent open-heart cases. Surgical services include cardiovascular, thoracic, orthopedic, gynecologic, obstetric, plastic, general, neurologic, urologic, breast, and podiatric procedures. Blue scrubs are provided, and complete screening clearances must be completed before the start date. Pennsylvania child abuse, Department of Human Services, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and state police clearances are required as applicable.
