Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Operating Room. The role supports orthopedic, spine, robotic, and general surgical procedures in a fast-paced operating room environment. The position requires strong orthopedic experience, proficiency with required charting systems, and the ability to care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts consisting of 10-hour shifts, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year of operating room nursing experience; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; required experience with the designated charting system; strong orthopedic experience; ability to circulate orthopedic, spine, robotic, and general surgery cases.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with orthopedic robotics, spine procedures, general surgery, thoracic surgery, gynecologic surgery, urologic surgery, robotic surgery, total joint replacement, spinal fusion, laminectomy or discectomy, fracture repair, and laparoscopic-assisted procedures.
• Additional Information: The role includes circulating for procedures such as arthroscopy, joint replacement, spinal fusion, thoracotomy, lung resection, abdominal surgery, robotic surgery, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, mastectomy, hysterectomy, and other specialty procedures. Responsibilities include surgical safety practices, specimen handling and labeling, infection control, fire safety, laser safety, radiation safety, cell saver operation, administration of blood and blood products, wound management, urinary catheterization, and universal protocol time-outs. Patient populations include adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. The unit has an average daily census of 1518 patients and six operating rooms.
