Description
Medipro Medical Staffing is currently looking for a PICU RN.
Assignment Location: Bakersfield, CA. Start Date is 3/4/2024.
Shifts: Day 5x8 (40 hr. week)
Local Weekly Rate: $3,600.00/wkly.
Travel Rate: Radius Rule is 65 miles from the facility.
Requirements:
RN
Additional Credentials: BLS, CCNS, and PALS.
Must have 5 years of recent paid experience working in PICU unit.
Unit Notes:
***MSN DEGREE REQUIRED - BSN NOT ALLOWED*** **CERNER IS REQUIRED** *NO FIRST TIME TRAVELERS* --5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE A MUST-- Unique Notes: • The Clinical Nurse Specialist for the PEDS and PICU Department will have accountabilities for planning, staff development, orientation, patient/family education, quality management and research, consultation, communication, professional relationships, and professional development as appropriate. • Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing and interdisciplinary team efforts in order to optimize the quality of care provided and plans, develops and implements changes as needed. • Develops and updates orientation checklist and skills inventory for Pediatrics and PEDS ICU. • Serves as a resource for unit staff preceptors participating in orientation. Coordinates the orientation of new staff. • Supports overall patient care goals by participating in management and as a change agent; participates with other members of the department's management team in developing and evaluating departmental goals. • May act as member of the management team in absence of manager. • May coach and counsel staff regarding compliance with established protocols. - Unit: PICU - # beds: 8--average census 2 - Certs: BLS, PALS, CNS - Ratios: 1 to 2 - EMR: Cerner - Charge Nurse: Rarely - Nurse Aides: None - Weekend Requirement: Every other - Scrub Color: Navy Blue - Tele: Spacelab tele monitors, nurses must read own strips - Vents: Yes - Peds Hospitalist Intensivist in house: Yes, in house 24/7 - IV Team: None - RT 24/7: Yes - Pharmacy 24/7: Yes - Call: If census low and scheduled, may be asked to be on standby - Floating: general peds and burn - Floor specific orientation: 2 shifts PICU, 1 shift peds, 1 shift burn (for peds) - Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Respiratory failure, dehydration, seizures, suicide attempts, Ods, posioning - Additional Notes: use medfusion pumps
