Now Hiring: Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
Location: Topeka, KS
Full Time | Monday through Friday | Day Schedule
We are adding to our already amazing team! Phoenix Home Care & Hospice is seeking a strong clinical leader to step into an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) role in Topeka. This position is ideal for an experienced nurse who is ready to grow into leadership or continue building on an established leadership background.
As ADON, you will support the Director of Nursing in overseeing clinical operations, guiding nursing staff, and ensuring patients receive high quality, compliant, and compassionate care. You will play a key role in both the day-to-day success of the team and the long-term growth of the department.
What You Will Do
- Support the Director of Nursing in daily clinical operations
- Supervise, coach, and develop nursing staff
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and company regulations
- Assist with patient care oversight and clinical quality initiatives
- Review and support care plans to ensure appropriate service delivery
- Conduct staff education, training, and performance evaluations
- Assist with problem solving, escalations, and clinical decision making
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and retention of nursing staff
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes
What We Are Looking For
- Active Kansas RN license required
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- At least 2 years experience in hospice
- Strong knowledge of clinical standards and regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team in a fast-paced environment
- Professional, compassionate, and solution-oriented mindset
