Job Summary

Emergency Room. This position provides nursing care in a high-volume emergency department serving patients in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment. The role requires an active, unencumbered Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) license and current emergency and critical-care certifications.

Job Details

Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; active, unencumbered Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) license; current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Professionals (HCP), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications, all valid for the duration of the assignment; two or more years of staff Registered Nurse (RN) experience in an Emergency Department with a Level 1 Trauma Center designation, excluding travel assignments; successful completion of an electrocardiogram (EKG) examination with a score of 80% or higher during orientation.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); experience in high-volume emergency departments within large academic medical centers; Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Emergency Nurses Pediatric Course (ENPC), and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification or equivalent.
Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Additional Information: Depending on unit needs, the professional may be assigned to nursing assistant or safety sitter responsibilities when Registered Nurse (RN) coverage is not required on the assigned or a comparable unit.
