Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Emergency Room care. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center environment. First-time travelers are welcome, and candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the work location.

Shift Details

• Shift: Nights (36 or 48 hours per week)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend - 2 weekends in a 4-week posted schedule
• Patient Ratio: 1:5

Required Skills and Experience

• General Emergency Department experience (combined Adult/Pediatric)
• Non-trauma Emergency Department skills
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Blood product administration and central line care/management
• Phlebotomy and initiation of IVs
• Continuous IV sedation and administration of IV vasopressors
• Experience with CVA, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injuries
• Ortho-trauma, abdominal pain, asthma, burns, and epiglottitis management
• Head injuries, hyperglycemia, infection control, and mental/behavioral health conditions
• Management of respiratory infections, seizures, urinary tract infections, and care for ventilated patients
• Experience with gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations

Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

Preferred Skills and Certifications

• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
• TCAR (Trauma Care After Resuscitation)

Orientation

A comprehensive 24-hour orientation will be provided for successful candidates.
