Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) for its Med Surg/Telemetry / Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is an adaptive acuity unit, where nurses may be required to provide PCU-level care when needed. Candidates must be comfortable working in a critical access hospital environment and serving in a charge role.

This position requires flexibility, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to manage varying patient acuity levels.

Unit Details

• Unit Type: Med Surg / Tele / PCU

• Number of Beds: 25

• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:

  • Med Surg/Tele: 1:5

  • PCU: 3:1 (as required)

• Floating: Required to any inpatient unit within scope of practice

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to Med Surg, Telemetry, and PCU patients

• Serve in a Charge Nurse role as required

• Manage patients requiring continuous IV drips (drip experience required)

• Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, effective patient care

• Float to other inpatient units as needed

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR

Requirements

• Active Vermont RN License or Compact License (required)

• BLS (AHA) – Required

• ACLS (AHA) – Required

• Minimum 2 years of current Med Surg/Telemetry experience (required)

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience (strongly required)

• Charge Nurse experience (required – must be noted on profile)

• IV drip experience (required)

• Minimum 3 months of prior travel experience (required – non-negotiable)

• ICU experience (strongly preferred)

• Small critical access hospital experience (preferred)
