Assists the department manager for providing overall leadership and management of Radiology/Imaging Department. Responsibility for promoting excellent patient care, cost effective use of material and human resources, and professional growth and job satisfaction for staff. Maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Responsible for daily operations of picture archiving and communications system (PACS) system. Coordinates PACS services with other departments, physicians, and their office staff. Communicate system changes and upgrades to the users. Direct supervision of the technologists. Ongoing performance improvement monitoring and reporting, staff in-service and competency testing. Assigns staff and workload requirements respecting changing priorities in daily operations. Interacts and communicates with physician support staff and other health care professional.Job Description:EDUCATION:<ul><li>High School diploma or equivalent. Satisfactory completion of a formal AMA school of Radiologic Technology or equivalent to an AMA Technologic program.</li><li>Associates Degree required or equivalent education</li><li>Bachelors Degree desired</li></ul> CERTIFICATION &amp; LICENSURE:<ul><li>BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Upon Hire</li><li>ARRT (M) or ARRT (NM) Upon Hire</li><li>OR NMT-Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist Upon Hire</li><li>OR ARDMS-American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Upon Hire</li><li>OR CA RHM-Radiology Mammography Upon Hire</li></ul>TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:<ul><li>5 years of recent relevant experience.</li></ul> SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:<ul><li>Advanced knowledge of all aspects of Radiology Care.</li><li>Knowledge of quality personnel management, communication skills and customer service.</li><li>Monitors departmental operations to assure compliance with governmental regulations and meet standards established by accrediting agencies.</li><li>Basic computer/data entry/statistical evaluation skills.</li><li>Communication and problem-solving skills are desired.</li><li>Act as a resource for staff technologists.</li><li>Has experience with electronic health record (EHR, Epic, etc.)</li><li>Excellent interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills are essential. Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy and physiology for imaging, proper operation of and care of radiology diagnostic equipment, and radiation safety is required.</li><li>Expertise in use of digital imaging applications such as PACS, RIS, EMR and other technical applications to support imaging modalities.</li></ul>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>3-5 years' experience as a technical supervisor in an outpatient setting or busy hospital radiology department is preferred.</li><li>Holds at least two advanced certifications.
