Job Summary and Qualifications

• Coordinates the clinical management of the stroke patient population across the entire continuum of care. 
• Serves as a leader for the stroke program performance improvement initiative. Acts as a clinical resource/ role model for all areas caring for stroke patients. 
• Provides and/or coordinates educational activities for both staff and patients. 
• Acts as a community liaison on behalf of the program and hospital. 
• Directly involved in the marketing/promotion of services provided. 
• Incorporated within each of these role functions, the stroke coordinator is a role model, patient advocate, change agent, leader, and cost-effective practitioner. 

What qualifications you will need:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in critical care or emergency department. 
• Analytical skills necessary in order to develop and implement program plans, education techniques, and evaluate program effectiveness. 
• Ability to listen, interact and communicate verbally and in writing. 
• Recent experience in stroke outcomes research and intervention is desirable. 
• Basic to advanced computer skills, Microsoft Word and Excel
• Registered Nurse in the state of Texas or compact license
• Bachelors Degree
