Schedule: Night shift (day/night option available); Self-scheduling requests accepted; 1:3 PCU ratio, 1:4-5 Med-Surg Telemetry ratio
Highlights:
- 36-bed oncology telemetry unit with over 24 beds dedicated to progressive care
- High-acuity PCU environment with medical oncology focus including solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology patients
- Self-schedule requests honored to support work-life balance
- Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Oncology experience preferred but not required; focus on high-acuity PCU skills
- 72 hours of structured orientation with preceptor support
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse license (Compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of high-acuity PCU patient experience required
- Current certifications: BLS (BCLS), ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Required skills: dysrhythmia interpretation, rapid response team utilization, accessing ports, blood product administration, central/peripheral/PICC line management, IV starts, heparin protocols, PCA pumps, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy management
- Proficiency with telemetry monitoring (GE system), Alaris pumps, and continuous bladder irrigation
- Willingness to float to equivalent or lower acuity units as needed
- Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal supervisor)
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
