Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 8-hour days, 0800-1700; 40 hours per week available; approximately 5 visits per day with on-call rotation
Highlights:
- Provide compassionate hospice care to patients with 6 months or less to live, primarily geriatric population
- Average daily census of 63 patients with manageable caseload of 5 visits per day
- EPIC charting system with comprehensive 40-hour orientation plus facility orientation
- Home health and hospice setting focused on end-of-life care and family support
- 13-week assignment with on-call rotation for weekend coverage
- First-time travelers welcome; local candidates accepted
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license
- BLS certification required
- Experience in home health, hospice, and skilled nursing settings required
- Proficiency in EPIC charting system required
- Comprehensive knowledge of end-of-life care including after treatment survivorship and cultural awareness
- Strong pain management skills including WHO Analgesic Ladder, breakthrough dosing, medication tolerance, and utilization of pain scales
- Expertise in symptom assessment and management including altered mental status, anorexia/cachexia, constipation/diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, and pressure ulcer staging
- Professional knowledge in goal setting with patients and families, intake assessment, Medicare state regulations, and patient/family education
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
