Description
Start Date: March 9, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Evening/Night shifts, 8 or 12-hour shifts (1900-0730), every other weekend, holiday rotation, no call
Highlights:
- Work at Wisconsin's #1 ranked hospital, a Magnet-designated Level 1 Trauma Center
- Float across multiple critical care units including Neuro ICU, Burn ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Trauma Surgery, and Medical/Surgical ICU
- Epic EMR system required; recent experience within the last 12 months preferred
- Experience high-acuity patient care in an academic teaching environment
- 13-week travel assignment with orientation provided
- Patient ratio of 3:1 with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response, pharmacy, and more
Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin RN license or valid Compact state license from permanent address state (must be in hand at submittal)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care ICU experience within the last 3 years
- Experience in multiple ICU settings with adult populations required
- Level 1 Trauma Center experience required
- Successfully completed travel assignment (13 weeks minimum)
- Epic EMR experience required (within last 12 months preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certification through American Heart Association only
- Basic arrhythmia experience; must pass telemetry competency exam prior to start
- Willingness to work with IMC/Progressive/General care populations as needed
- Permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
