Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend required

Highlights:

• Specialized neuroscience unit caring primarily for stroke, epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, and subdural hematoma patients
• 1:6 patient ratios with interdisciplinary team support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management
• 13-week contract with 36 hours of structured orientation
• 42-bed unit with daily census around 50 patients, including a 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
• Floating required to other Med-Surg/Telemetry areas based on facility needs

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of direct Medical-Surgical experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required – first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license required at time of start
• Current certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required; ACLS strongly preferred
• Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Experience with Med-Surg neuro patient populations essential
• Epic charting experience preferred
