Description
Start Date: May 18, 2026
Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week available; 13-week contract
Highlights:
- Work in a fast-paced 24-bed inpatient cardiac procedural unit with rapid patient turnover and average length of stay under 2.5 days
- Manage a diverse cardiac patient population including pre/post cardiac catheterization, pacemaker and AICD procedures, TIA, carotid stent management, and arrhythmia care
- Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6 with ADT nurse support Monday through Friday during peak transition times
- Experience with cardiac telemetry, cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lasix, non-titrating Nitro), and arterial/venous sheath management
- Epic charting system with in-room monitoring and modern equipment including new Hil-Rom beds
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Current NC or Compact RN license (must be active at time of start)
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
- Strong IV start and telemetry skills required
- Experience managing cardiac drips, interpreting dysrhythmias, and caring for cardiac procedural patients
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- First-time travelers accepted
- Flexibility to float to similar units as needed
- Availability to work 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
