Description
Start Date: July 27, 2026
Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 1:4-5 patient ratio, every other weekend required, option for up to 26-week assignment
Highlights:
- Specialize in neuro and stroke care within a designated Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
- Work with diverse patient populations including embolic and hemorrhagic strokes, seizures, and neurosurgical cases
- Comprehensive Stroke Center following American Heart Association guidelines
- Epic EMR charting system with robust interdisciplinary support including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Rapid Response Teams
- 641-licensed-bed regional teaching medical center with advanced specialty programs
- First-time travelers welcome; 24 hours of paid orientation provided
Requirements:
- Active South Carolina or multistate (compact) RN license required at time of submission
- Minimum 1-2 years of recent MS/Telemetry or neuro nursing experience
- 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Flu vaccination required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccination not required
- Demonstrated competency in starting IVs, accessing ports, managing PICC and central lines, blood product administration, PCA and heparin protocols
- Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, respiratory support (HFNC, nasal cannula, trach management), CVA care, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and pre/post neurosurgery care
- Must be willing to float to other qualified units as needed based on facility census
