Job Opportunity – Hematology Oncology RN – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts (assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on department needs). Goal staffing ratio 1:4, may be 1:5. Weekend coverage variable based on unit needs. Float to other Medical/Surgical Oncology units as needed.

Highlights:

• 24-bed acute leukemia and hematology specialty unit caring primarily for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients
• High-acuity medical unit with frequent administration of blood products, IV antibiotics, and electrolytes
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services
• 72-hour orientation provided
• Strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention
• Daily census of approximately 22 patients; adult and geriatric population

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of overall RN experience required
• Current acute care experience in Medical/Surgical Oncology (must be working consistently in the last 12 months)
• Inpatient hematology oncology experience required, including demonstrated experience with leukemia/blood dyscrasias
• Previous travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
• Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license in hand at time of submission)
• Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• BLS, ACLS, and ONS Chemotherapy Certification required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Experience with central line blood draws, PICC line management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Epic charting experience required
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role
