Description
Start Date: October 23, 2026
Location: Akron, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Every other holiday coverage required.
Highlights:
- Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown environment serving patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and intervention
- Night shift schedule with consistent three 12-hour shifts weekly
- ECG rhythm recognition and safe medication administration competencies completed during orientation
- Opportunity for contract extensions up to 18 months with potential for continued engagement
- Orientation support provided with pre-start educational modules and facility-specific training
- Work within a comprehensive health system serving diverse patient populations
Requirements:
- Minimum of 12 months permanent experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Stepdown setting required
- Active permanent Ohio RN license or active Compact State license in hand at time of application
- Current AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required
- Professional reference from a manager, supervisor, or director from specialty area within the past 12 months required
- Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation (two attempts maximum)
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Influenza vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Completion of background check and fingerprinting within 48 hours of contract signing
- Negative drug screen required
