Description
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Evening shifts, Monday through Friday, 4:00 PM to midnight. Weekend rotation (1 in 4 weekends) with hours either 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM or 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. 8-hour shifts.

- Perform advanced microbiology procedures including complex culture reading, Gram stains, organism identification (aerobic and anaerobic), PCR testing, and rapid molecular testing
- High-volume, large facility environment providing extensive exposure to diverse specimens and advanced laboratory techniques
- Opportunity to assist in the development and implementation of new assays and analyzers in an ever-evolving science
- On-the-job training provided for specialized HLA testing and histocompatibility procedures
Requirements:
- ASCP MT (Medical Technologist) or ASCP-MLS (Medical Laboratory Scientist) certification required
- Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital clinical laboratory required
- Extensive microbiology experience with near-exclusive focus in microbiology preferred
- High skillset in all microbiology areas including complex culture reading with minimal training needed
- Proficiency in accessioning, aerobic and anaerobic cultures, culture plating, Gram stain, organism identification, sensitivities, PCR testing, rapid test kits, and reporting test results
- Trauma Level I experience required
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to work independently
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
