The Labor and Delivery Unit at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is seeking an RN Unit Supervisor!
Schedule: full-time, night shift with 3 x 12 hour shifts per week one week and 2x12 hour shifts the next week from 7:00pm to 7:00am
Sign-On/Relocation Bonus Information: This position is eligible for a competitive Sign-On Bonus. Candidates who are relocating 50 miles or further are also eligible for relocation assistance.
The Labor and Delivery unit at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital located in Fairfax, Virginia has recently undergone a beautiful renovation. Our unit consists of thirteen private labor and delivery rooms, an eight-bed triage/PACU area, and three operating rooms. The types of patients range from low risk deliveries to high-risk patients with pre-existing multisystem medical and obstetrical problems. The usual staffing assignment consists of 1 RN for 2 laboring patients and change to 1 nurse to 1 patient based on acuity and phase of labor. Requirements:
Required Experience: At least one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience. 2+ years of Labor and Delivery experience is strongly preferred.
General Requirements:
- Proficient in English, strong verbal, and written communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others
- Values team collaboration
- Proficient computer skills required
- Completion of revised Charge Nurse workshop within first 90 days.
Minimum Education Requirement: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 12 months of start date.
Minimum Licensure/ Certification Requirement:
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start
- Specialty certification (as required by the unit) within one year of hire.
