The Mother/Baby Unit at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is seeking an RN Unit Supervisor!
Schedule: full-time, night shift with 3 x 12 hour shifts per week from 7:00pm to 7:00am
Sign-On/Relocation Bonus Information: This position is eligible for a competitive Sign-On Bonus. Candidates who are relocating 50 miles or further are also eligible for relocation assistance.
The Mother/Baby Unit is committed to provide superior, personalized, and compassionate care to antepartum patients, their newborns, and families. This is a 35 private bed unit providing 24/7 care in a family centered manner. Patients on Mother/Baby are women of childbearing age who are postpartum, their newborns, and undelivered ante partum patients experiencing complications of pregnancy. RNs are assigned up to 4 couplets. The Inova Registered Nurse Unit Supervisor:
- Front line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to Quality and Best Practices to improve clinical operation of the unit; embraces, uses and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools. Supports unit-based shared governance and decentralized decision-making structures and processes.
- Role model who leads by example in delivering Service Always and in making Patient Experience a priority on unit(s) of responsibility. Seeks every opportunity to meet the unique needs of each person we are privileged to serve-every time, every touch. Ensures that care is patient-centered.
- Continually pursues activities that will ensure smooth clinical operations/flow and compliance with Inova's goals of providing safe, equitable, patient-centered, timely, efficient and effective care in a holistic and evidence-based practice environment. Values and promotes collegial working relationships within and among disciplines.

Requirements:
Required Experience: At least one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience. 2+ years of Mother/Baby experience is strongly preferred.
General Requirements:
- Proficient in English, strong verbal, and written communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others
- Values team collaboration
- Proficient computer skills required
- Completion of revised Charge Nurse workshop within first 90 days.
Minimum Education Requirement: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 12 months of start date.
Minimum Licensure/ Certification Requirement:
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start
- Specialty certification (as required by the unit) within one year of hire.
