- Unit: MedSurg Magic Valley - Flr 2 | Surgical
- # of Beds: 36
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:05
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Surgical patients with mix of Medsurg. Any surgical patient that would stay
overnight or longer- total joints, appys, choles, simple back surgeries etc. Medical and cardiopulmonary- CHF, COPD,
pneumonia, psych, dementia, COVID, etc. Only patients they really don't take are strokes.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have experience with post op surgical patients. Must have 1 year of experience,
okay with first time traveler but would like first time traveler to have more than 1 year of experience.
- Are RNs required to titrate drips: No
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: heparin
- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift: Charge nurse and resource nurse available on unit. Plus House wide med/surg
Crisis nurse. Charge does not take assignments.
- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties? CNAs 1:8
- RT Equipment: CPAP. BiPAP and High flow will be transferred to IClientU or ICU.
- Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit: No tele techs- Prefer RNs to read and interpret, if unable charge or resource
can read.
- Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hours, 7-7. No self-scheduling, will try to work with requests.
- Weekend Requirement: Yes- if there is a need.
- Holiday Requirement: Yes- if there is a need.
- Is there Call or a Standby requirement: No.
- Floating Requirements: Yes to other MedSurg floors.
- Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided? Navy Blue and we do not provide uniforms.
- How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: General orientation and 1 shift on the unit.

**This facility has a radius rule of 50 miles. To ensure adherence to this rule, we will require the candidates' perm address in the submittal to confirm they are outside of that specified radius before proceeding with the profile review.**

They made it right. They have been very responsive, and i have been paid on time every week.

Cons

Horrible initial experience: error on start date and the first paycheck was a complete disaster.
