ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Nashville, TN

Unit Name: NVICU

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 16
• Patient Ratios: 2:1, sometimes 1:1 or 3:1 depending on acuity and staffing
• Unit Staffing Description: Unit secretary staffed during dayshift with occasional nurse externs working as techs
• Type of Equipment: Ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, EV 1000
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: Minimum of 4 weekend shifts per schedule, with schedules done in 4-week increments and some self-scheduling
• Floating Policy: Contract labor is first to float. If staffing needs arise in other areas, contract labor may be required to float to those assignments
• Patient Experience Requirements: Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and their families

Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Current certifications in ACLS and BLS
• Previous ICU experience
• Advanced Skills Required:
• Insertion of central lines
• Arterial lines
• Lumbar punctures
• Chest tube insertions
• EVD insertions

Dress Code

Required uniform: Navy scrubs, tops and bottoms
