Opportunity:

RN - Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with day/PM shifts running 7:00 AM to 11:30 PM and overnight shifts running 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No block scheduling
• Holiday expectations include 1 summer and 1 winter holiday
• No on-call responsibilities
• Overtime only approved by manager
• Cannot work more than 60 hours in a week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts per fatigue policy
• Patient ratios: Days/PMs 1:4-5, Overnight 1:6-8
• 27-bed telemetry unit
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certification: BLS
• EPIC charting system preferred
• Equipment used: Alaris, Pyxis, and GE monitors
• Patient types include CHF, EP studies, afib and dysrhythmias, Coumadin loading, cardiac heart failure, cath lab, amputations, pre-surgical, and open heart and vascular patients
• Required skills include cardiac drips (Primacor, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine), heparin, Lasix and insulin drips, chest tube, trach care, telemetry reading, and wound care
• Unit support includes charge nurse, unit secretary 24/7, hospitalist 24/7, respiratory therapy 24/7, centralized telemetry monitoring with tele tech, and phlebotomy assistance
• May float to other inpatient areas within scope of practice including ICU for appropriate MS patient assignments and ED holding at a 1:4 ratio; travelers are first to float
• Must document pain level before and after administering pain medications, with oral medications requiring reassessment at 1 hour
• Scrub color: Any color accepted, no camouflage or denim
